  The circuit’s internal AC coupling prevents A1’s DC characteristics from influencing overall DC performance,
  accounting for the extremely low offset errors noted. A new dual op amp with only 1μA power consumption and precision DC specifications permits high
  performance portable applications. The LT В®1495
  has 375ОјV offset, 2ОјV/В°C drift, 1nA bias current and
  100dB of open-loop gain. These attributes, combined
  with careful design, make portable, high performance
  circuitry possible. The desired micropower operation and A1’s bandwidth
  dictate the 5Hz clock rate. As such, resultant overall
  bandwidth is low. Full power bandwidth is 0.05Hz with
  a slew rate of about 1V/s. Clock related noise, about
  5μV, can be reduced by increasing CCOMP, with commensurate bandwidth reduction. 5.5μA, 0.05μV/°C Chopped Amplifier
  Figure 1 shows a chopped amplifier requiring only 5.5μA
  supply current. Offset voltage is 5ОјV, with 0.05ОјV/В°C
  drift. Gain exceeding 108 affords high accuracy, even
  at large closed-loop gains. 0.03% Linear V/F Converter with 13ОјA Power Drain
  Figure 2’s voltage-to-frequency converter takes full
  advantage of the LT1495’s low power consumption.
  A 0V to 2.5V input produces a 0Hz to 10kHz output,
  with 0.03% linearity, 250ppm/В°C drift and 10ppm/V
  supply rejection. Maximum current consumption is
  only 13ОјA, 200 times lower than currently available ICs. …

  by Brendan Whelan Why Voltage References? 5V It is an analog world. All electronic
  devices must in some way interact with
  the “real” world, whether they are in
  an automobile, microwave oven or cell
  phone. To do that, electronics must be
  able to map real world measurements
  (speed, pressure, length, temperature)
  to a measurable quantity in the electronics world (voltage). Of course, to
  measure voltage, you need a standard
  to measure against. That standard is
  a voltage reference. The question for
  any system designer is not whether he
  needs a voltage reference, but rather,
  which one?
  A voltage reference is simply that—a
  circuit or circuit element that provides
  a known potential for as long as the circuit requires it. This may be minutes,

  Measuring the resistance of a
  device, for example a thermistor, usually requires biasing it with a precision
  current source or combining it with
  several other precision resistors in a
  bridge. The circuit of Figure 1 shows
  how to use the new LT1168 instrumentation amplifier to achieve a
  precision resistance-to-voltage conversion as simply as possible.
  Normally, the resistor across pins 1
  and 8 is the gain-set resistor and the
  voltage across pins 3 and 2 is the
  variable to be measured. In this case, however, the 1.25V reference establishes a fixed input voltage so that the
  variable to be measured is now the
  resistance. The equation for VOUT vs
  RT is VOUT = 1.25V 49.4kΩ/RT. Given
  the limitation on output swing (with
  the supply voltages shown), the smallest measurable resistance is about
  4.5k. The highest resolvable resistance is limited to about 200M by the
  300ВµV output offset voltage of the
  LT1168. The 0.05% accuracy of the
  LT1634 is not an issue here, because …
