  The LTM8020, LTM8021, LTM8022 and LTM8023 μModules are complete easy-to-use encapsulated step down DC/DC regulators intended to take the pain and aggravation out of implementing a switching power supply onto a system board. With a μModule, you only need an input cap, output cap and one or two resistors to complete the design.   The LTM8020, LTM8021, LTM8022 and LTM8023 ОјModuleВ®
  regulators are complete easy-to-use encapsulated stepdown DC/DC regulators intended to take the pain and aggravation out of implementing a switching power supply
  onto a system board. With a ОјModule regulator, you only
  need an input cap, output cap and one or two resistors
  to complete the design. As one might imagine, this high
  level of integration greatly simplifies the task of printed
  circuit board design, reducing the effort to four categories:
  component footprint generation, component placement,
  routing the nets, and thermal vias.
  Component Footprint Generation
  One of the п¬Ѓrst things to do when designing a printed
  circuit board is generate the footprint or decal for each
  component. The components required to complete the
  LTM8020, LTM8021, LTM8022 and LTM8023 designs
  are common resistors and capacitors that have industry

  Introduction
  Linear Technology’s DC/DC step-down μModule ®
  regulators are complete switchmode power supplies in a
  surface-mount package. They include the DC/DC controller, inductor, power switches and supporting circuitry.
  These highly integrated regulators also provide an easy
  solution for applications that require negative output
  voltages. In other words, these products can operate as
  inverting buck-boost regulators. As a result, the lowest
  potential in the circuit is not the standard 0V, but –VOUT,
  which must be tied to the μModule regulator’s GND. All
  signals are now referred to –VOUT.
  For this discussion, the LTMВ®8025 (36V, 3A) is used to
  demonstrate how a buck ОјModule regulator can be altered
  to produce a negative output voltage with level-shifting
  circuitry for synchronization. This approach can be applied to other ОјModule regulators, such as the LTM8022
  (36V, 1A), LTM8023 (36V, 2A) and LTM8027 (60V, 4A).

  Introduction
  When it comes to high density, efficient
  power supplies, switching regulators
  are a top choice, but what if a project
  lacks sufficient design resources to
  properly layout and test a switching
  power supply circuit? Like any other
  system, switching power supplies require component selection, derating,
  simulation, prototyping, board layout,
  analysis and design verification testing. Design engineers should focus on
  the guts of the new whiz-bang gadget,
  not the power supply to run it.
  The LTM8020, LTM8022 and
  LTM8023 are three ВµModule regulators that require minimal design effort
  and only a few inexpensive passive
  components to make a complete
